Chance The Rapper can now check off a life-long goal as ‘Saturday Night Live,’ revealed the Chicago rapper will be both musical guest and host for NBC’s late-night sketch show later this month. Chance, 26, will join the cast of ‘SNL,’ on Oct. 26 delivering the opening monologue. He announced his exciting news on an Instagram writing,
“ATTENTION!! IM FINALLY ACCOMPLISHING MY LIFE LONG GOAL!! THANK YOU JESUS!! SINCE I WAS A SHORTY I WANTED TO JOIN THE SHORT LIST OF TALENTS WHO PULLED DOUBLE DUTY AT SNL NOW I WILL BE THE 27TH PERSON ACROSS 45 SEASONS TO HOLD THIS HONOR!”
He continues,
“IVE PERFORMED AS GUEST TWICE (not including Ultralight Beam) AND HOSTED ONCE (Musical guest Eminem) BUT IM FINALLY DOIN THE WHOLE SHEBANG!! THANK YOU DONALD GLOVER AND DRAKE WHO CAME BEFORE ME AND MC HAMMER WHO HELPED ME REALIZE THIS DREAM AS A CHILD!! THANK YOU LORNE AND EVERYONE AT 8H!! PREPARE FOR THE SHOW OF A LIFETIME“
He previously hosted SNL in November of 2017 which he played a clueless NHL reporter.
The rapper joins a list of SNL host-musical guests that includes Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Drake, Bruno Mars, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, and Janet Jackson.
Chance’s wife, Kirsten Bennett shares her husband’s proud moment in her Instagram story, calling the rapper a, “legend.”
