Kevin Hart Not Returning To Work Until Next Year

Kevin Hart will be on hiatus as he takes the rest of the year to recover from a car accident.

It was previously reported that Hart is in physical therapy after getting back surgery as a result of the serious crash last month.

As for when he’ll be back to his regularly scheduled program, his lawyer, Andrew Brettler, said that won’t be until 2020.

“While he’s doing a little work here and there for [Jumanji: The Next Level], he doesn’t expect to be fully back to work until the new year.”

Hart spoke out about the crash for the first time recently. He said that there is no bad blood between him and Jared S. Black, who was driving Hart’s 1970 Plymouth Barracuda at the time of the incident. Black’s fiance Rebecca Broxterman was in the back seat.

Hart said via Brettler:

“I have nothing but love for Jared and wish him and Rebecca a speedy recovery.”

Black suffered major injuries as well but Broxterman did not.

Still, Hart and the couple are reportedly looking at filing a lawsuit in light of the accident. The trio has retained lawyers amid news that Hart’s car was a death trap as it missed several key features like a safety harness and even airbags. While that type of car typically has a five-part harness and roll cage, Hart’s car lacked those necessities as well. Hart was possibly accused of being negligent when he drove the car without verifying its safety features. But some say the company that customized the car, SpeedKore, is the one to blame as it shouldn’t have taken on the job if it didn’t have safety basics.

Let’s continue to pray for a full recovery for Kevin Hart and everyone involved!
