Queen Latifah Lands Lead Role In ‘Equalizer’ Reboot, Will Also Executive Produce
“The Equalizer” is coming back to the small screen and Queen Latifah is taking on the lead role. She’ll also take her talents behind the camera as Executive Producer.
The original series, which is about a retired intelligence operative who rescues people in tight spots, aired from 1985-1989. Queen Latifah’s character will be pretty similar as she plays a woman who uses her own training and skills to assist people in desperate situations.
The pioneering show also went on to launch two films starring Denzel Washington. The first went to theaters in September 2014 and the sequel was released in July 2018.
Queen Latifah has been keeping busy as she’ll also play Ursula in The Little Mermaid Live, which is airing on ABC Tuesday (Nov. 5).
