Tinashe Releases ‘Songs for You’ EP Ft. 6lack, G-Eazy, and More

Just hours after her release for her new EP, Tinashe shared her excitement Thursday morning revealing that her new release has gone number one on iTunes. She adds dozes of crying emojis writing,
“WOKE UP TO SEE I’M THE NUMBER ONE ALBUM ON ITUNES. THIS IS A DREAM COME TRUE.”

Following years of struggling with her former label, Tinashe recently discussed her career decision to part ways with the label in September.
“Creatively, I just feel like I needed to go through what I went through in order to be the person that I am today and to get back to my roots.”

She continues, reacting to some of the harsh criticism online.
“You pretty much put your heart and soul and emotions into all these songs and then you put them out there for the world to judge and tear down and pick apart. It’s terrifying and it can really mess with your head.”

Her manager, Mike Nazzaro, tells Rolling Stone more about her split with her former label. He says,
“She wasn’t dropped. We initiated for her to be released. It was a positive split for her. It’s giving her back creative control. Took a little while to figure out.”
As previously reported, Tinashe released her latest visual back in October with her single “Die A Little Bit” featuring Ms. Banks. She gives us Rihanna vibes as she rocks braids in the beginning in a booth at a restaurant.
