Dwyane Wade Defends Family Photo After Son’s Attire Criticized

Dwyane Wade is proudly defending his 12-year-old son Zion. Over the holiday weekend, there was some online chatter over Zion’s appearance in the family photo. The photo features Dwyane Wade, wife Gabrielle Union, their daughter Kaavia and son Zion.

Zion’s attire seemed to receive some mixed reviews. However, the former NBA star is in full support of his son, commenting on the backlash and his stance. He tweets:

I’ve seen some post-thanksgiving hate on social about my family photo. Stupidity is apart of this world we live in—so i get it. But here’s the thing—I’ve been chosen to lead my family not y’all. So we will continue to be us and support each other with pride, love & a smile!

Earlier this year, Gabrielle Union accompanied her step-son Zion to the Miami Pride Festival.

Wade was unable to attend but expressed his support for the child on social media, as did his eldest son and Zion’s brother, Zaire, 17.
