The Rock Confesses He Was ‘Hesitant’ To Get Married Again ‘My Divorce Did A Number On Me’

The Rock might be happily married now, but the wrestler turned actor revealed that he wasn’t necessarily on board when it came to getting married again.

He was previously married to Dany Garcia from 1997-2007, who’s the mother of his daughter Simone Garcia Johnson, 18 before tying the knot with Lauren Hashian earlier this year. He and Lauren Hashian have two daughters together: three-year-old Jasmine, and Tiana, 19 months.

He explained what took him so long to marry Lauren Hashian. He states,

“My divorce did a number on me. I wasn’t fearful of getting married again, there was just some hesitancy. But Lauren was incredibly patient: ‘I love you, you love me, we have this amazing life together — no presh.’”

While it took a while for them to walk down the aisle after meeting in 2006 while on set of The Game Plan (one of The Rock’s first acting gigs), he said it was love at first sight with Hashian. 

“Within 30 seconds, I thought, ‘Wow, this girl’s stunning.’ At the time, I was going through my breakup with Dany and [Lauren] was just coming off a big breakup too. Ironically, when you’re not looking for something, the power of the universe kind of takes over.”

Once they did tie the knot in August, they kept things super small and top secret.

“We had a full security detail in case there were helicopters. There was no press, no paparazzi. No one knew. I was shocked but so grateful. My life is so loud and noisy; the fact that it was quiet was a big win.”
