Ja Rule Receives Backlash After Announcing Tax Business, He Responds: Y’all Hate All Celebs, Ya’ll Just Made Fun Of Blue Ivy, Called Jay Z A Coon & Booed Drake!
Veteran rapper Jeffrey “Ja Rule” Atkins is always on time in more ways than one. Ja Rule took to Twitter to promote one of his many side businesses just in time for tax time, the Value Tax preparation center, when he was bombarded with jokes and jabs by social media users. He immediately clarified that he was just the owner and not one of the tax professionals:
“Calm down y’all Rule won’t be doing your taxes… Value tax does I’m just an Owner!!!”
He also commented:
“Thanks for the promo support black owned business right??? Thanks for the love.. Value tax been in business over a decade lol but y’all carry on with the foolery!!!”

The Murder Inc. member explained that Value Tax isn’t a new business of his, and that it’s important for rappers to have multiple streams of revenue:
“Everything that’s funny ain’t a joke value tax over 40 locations Ja Rule BEEN DOING YA’LL TAXES FOR YEARS!!!…All y’all thinking y’all gonna be stars better go learn how to diversify your portfolio…#ValueTax”

He, then, blamed society’s inability to take things seriously on social media – adding that it wouldn’t be as relevant without the presence of celebrities:
“Haters are funny…Social Media is for clowns… if all the celebs left social media there would be no more social media!!! Everyone gets on social media to follow celebs to get a glimpse of the lives you so desperately want but will probably NEVER live…”

That, of course, didn’t stop Twitter users from tweeting. Social media exploded with backlash, criticizing Ja Rule’s take on this line of work, considering his reportedly fraudulent past with the disgraced Fyre Festival.
