Taraji P. Henson On 50 Cent Taunting “Empire”: Why Tear Down Another Black Person? It’s Embarrassing!
“Empire” and “Power” both had successful runs on their respective networks. But the two shows have yet to bury their feud before going off the air for good.
While on T.I.’s “ExpidiTIously” podcast, “Empire” star Taraji P. Henson spoke on the rivalry between “Empire” and 50 Cent’s series “Power.” Viewers might remember 50 Cent sparked the tension when he made claims that “Empire”, which made its debut on Fox roughly six months after “Power” hit Starz, swiped the marketing promotions and concept for the show just ahead of its premiere.

At one point he clowned the ratings and offered Taraji P. Henson a slot on his show.

While both shows are currently in their final season, Taraji P. Henson’s comments make it clear there’s still beef between them.
“Our show had nothing to do with his show. We’re talking two different subject matters, you know what I mean?”
“And then again 50, do you know what the f*** I had to do to get here? Why tear down another black person? For competition? There are a million other shows you can compete with. And to do that publicly, it’s embarrassing.”
