The Rock Reveals His Father’s Cause Of Death Was A Massive Heart Attack: He Went Quick, That’s My Old Man, He Was Always Quick
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has opened up about his father’s cause of death.
It was previously reported that wrestling Hall Of Famer Rocky “Soul Man” Johnson passed away at 75-years-old.
The Rock shared a video on Instagram Sunday (Jan. 19), to thank fans for their support as he navigates through the process.
“A lot of you guys wanted to know what happened to my dad. He had not been feeling well and been battling a cold and infection. On Tuesday, he had what’s called a deep vein thrombosis, which is essentially a blood clot in the leg. It was a big old blood clot that broke free, traveled up his body and went right to his lung and clotted his lung and he died very quickly from a massive heart attack. Just like that.”
He continued,
“According to the medical examiner who performed the autopsy, it was clear and very evident of what happened.”
He then revealed that it was a quick passing, which The Rock said brought him a level of peace.
“My question was, was he in pain? Did he go quick? Was it drawn out? And he said he went fast, he went quick. That’s my old man. He was always quick. But that did give me great comfort knowing that it wasn’t prolonged. The reason it gave me great comfort, even though I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to my old man that one last time, is that he had been in a lot of pain for a very, very long time.”
He went on to say that pain is what comes with life of being a professional wrestler.
That’s the life of a pro wrestler, especially at that age and coming from out of that era, from the 60s, 70s and 80s. You know, he had banged his body around and he had always told me, a day without pain is like a day without sunshine. He would tell me that when I was 10…that’s a lot of years of being in pain. My old man, there’s no pain, which makes me happy that he’s not in pain anymore.”
The Rock first broke his silence about Rocky Johnson’s passing shortly after it was announced.
Let’s continue to pray for The Rock and his family during this difficult time!
