Pregnant Jodie Turner & Joshua Jackson Don’t Want To Raise Kids In U.S., Actress Says: White Supremacy Is Overt

Jodie Turner-Smith and her rumored husband Joshua Jackson don’t plan on staying in the states for too long.

The Queen & Slim actress, who is currently pregnant, spoke on her and Joshua Jackson’s relationship during an interview with the Sunday Times recently and said she and Joshua Jackson have plans to relocate.

“The racial dynamics over here are fraught. White supremacy is overt. It’s the reason I don’t want to raise my kids here. I don’t want my kids to grow up doing active shooter drills at school.”

Where do they plan on going? Canada, which is where Joshua Jackson was born.

“England has gone off the rails, so I was thinking maybe Canada.”

She also didn’t confirm that she and Joshua Jackson are actually husband and wife. But she said she doesn’t deny it when people tell her congratulations.

“I haven’t said to anybody, ‘Yeah, we got married’. People are assuming whatever they want, but when people tell me ‘Congratulations’, I say ‘Thank you’.”

Despite not wanting to be in the U.S. anymore, Jodie Turner-Smith said she was actually excited when she moved to Maryland from Peterborough, England after her parents split. She made the move across the pond with her mom, brother and half-sister.

“So I was really excited when I came to America about meeting black people. But it was a huge culture shock because I was rejected by the black community. They were like, ‘You talk like a white girl.’ People would call me an Oreo. All I wanted was acceptance.”

She said she

“would practice in the mirror, talking in a way that I thought was like black American: cutting you down with my words in five seconds if you came for me.”

She continued and said the racial friction continued when news spread that she allegedly married the “When They See Us” actor.

“There was this wave of people who were upset that I was possibly married to a white man. In America interracial dating or marriage is not something that is as accepted. Certain people feel strongly against it, in both communities. I felt it from the black community. It is so complicated. I don’t want to give it too much energy. The horrific things that people were saying, it makes you. … I’m learning there are certain things I have to really keep for myself.”

While the couple is typically private about their romance, she swooned over him and said,

“We are obsessed with each other. [I] went back and rewatched a lot of [Joshua’s] movies. I do it whenever we’re apart because I miss him so much. He loves that I am obsessed with him.”

As for their bundle of joy, she said

“Joshua tells me every day, ‘The way you’re handling this is incredible.’ He’s more tired than I am.”

Rumors that they were married sparked in December. They were also seen leaving a courthouse, allegedly to get their marriage license, in August.
