EXCLUSIVE: Cardi B’s Second Album Could Be Released As Early As This Spring
Cardi B fans, rejoice! theJasmineBRAND EXCLUSIVELY reports that not only has the spicy rap diva been working diligently on her second studio album – it could be in our hands and ears sooner than we think! Her 2018 Grammy award-winning debut, “Invasion of Privacy,” recently became Billboard’s longest charting debut album by a female rapper. Cardi B thanked fans for their loyalty while hinting at its follow-up:
“@iamcardib Thank you everybody ! Hopefully by the time I put my second album out IOP still charting .It will be dope to have two albums charting at the same time ! Ugh THE PRESSURE ! Thank you for the love . BGBGBG!”
An inside source confirmed that Cardi is working overtime with hopes of releasing the project by this spring:
“She’s still working on the album. Cardi wants to put it out in the spring, which means she will have to be finished by March- which is a lot…if the album is completed by April, the label will put it out in the summer. If not, they gotta push for fall.”
Last November, Cardi B expressed that she was indecisive about the sound she wanted to take on for her sophomore project. She told Billboard:
“There’s certain music that I want to do, but I feel like, is people interested in that? I feel like things have changed. It’s more like a twerk sound going on right now. It’s just like, ‘Should I just do my music around that?’ But I cannot just go with what’s hot. I still gotta go with what I want to do…I was going with what I want people to hear, and what I like, so that’s what I’m doing now…I’m just having fun in the studio, because if you think, ‘My first album was like this, I gotta have the same recipe,’ it’s just not gonna work.”
Our source revealed what has already been recorded:
“She has girly records. She’s still working on her street records.”
Cardi even hinted at wanting to land a dream collaboration with Beyonce last year.
