Billy Porter Reacts To Criticism Over Him Wearing A Dress On ‘Sesame Street’: Stay Out Of My Bedroom & You’ll Be Fine, That’s None Of Your Business

Billy Porter is unbothered after receiving backlash for wearing his Grammy Awards dress on the upcoming 51st season of kids show “Sesame Street.”

The series recently took to Instagram to reveal Billy Porter’s appearance and his attire.

It wasn’t long before many responded, stating that kids shouldn’t be exposed to an image of a man wearing a dress at such young ages.

Republican Arkansas Senator Jason Rapert went as far as suggesting funding for “Sesame Street” be pulled.

What do you think I should do about this as your state senator? Do you approve of your taxpayer dollars being used to promote the radical LGBTQ agenda?

Still, Billy Porter doesn’t seem to be moved by the backlash. He told Page Six

“If you don’t like it, don’t watch it.”

He also said it’s a reach for his attire to be compared to

“perverted demon sex.”

He added,

“Like, what about me singing with a penguin [on the show] has anything to do with what I’m doing in my bedroom? The really interesting thing for me is that that’s what it’s all about when it comes to LGBTQ people — the first thing everyone wants to talk about is how we having sex.”

He ended with,

“Stay out of my bedroom and you will be fine — that is none of your business.”
