Kim Kardashian Says She & Kanye West Saw A ‘Surrogate Therapist’ Before Welcoming Daughter Chicago
Kim Kardashian has been open about her and her husband Kanye West’s surrogacy journey. The reality star turned entrepreneur and mega-rapper used a surrogate to carry their two youngest children, Chicago West, 2, and Psalm West, who was born last May.

And that experience took on a path of its own. Kim Kardashian West revealed that she and Kanye West, along with their surrogate, went to a therapist before the birth of Chicago. She said on iHeartRadio’s All’s Fair podcast
“You get your surrogate attorney, you get your surrogate broker and then the broker recommended that we use a therapist that would communicate with me first and then communicate with her and kind of be our liaison.”
Fortunately, the trio ultimately built a close enough bond to no longer need the therapist. Kardashian West continued,
“Towards the end we got close enough where we could communicate really without that. [The therapist] would suggest, ‘Hey, I think you guys should communicate once a week through text, maybe on Mother’s Day. She’s a mother as well. Maybe get her a massage or something that’s appropriate for her to pamper.'”
“Things like going through the birthing plan, so if anything was uncomfortable she would be that buffer to say, ‘This is who I want in the room. What are you comfortable with? How does this work?”
She’s previously said she took that route after doctors told her she couldn’t have another healthy pregnancy following the births of daughter North West, 6, and Saint West, 4.
She said,
“I’m so thankful for my beautiful kids, no matter how they came to me — they came to me. I’m so thankful for surrogates. I’m really thankful for my family. I grew up with so many siblings. I just loved being in a big environment. I would have gone through the same pain and back for the result of having my babies. It was all worth it.”
