NeNe Leakes Says She’s NOT Being ‘Phased Out’ Of ‘RHOA’ + Accuses Kenya Moore Of Spreading Rumor

It looks like Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” OG NeNe Leakes is here to stay; least for this season.

NeNe Leakes shut down speculation that she was slowly but surely being eliminated from the series.

Her co-star and arch nemesis Kenya Moore made an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” Sunday night (Feb. 16). While there, she responded to a tweet from NeNe Leakes that questioned why Kenya Moore was claiming she was being phased out of the show.

Kenya Moore answered,

“I guess she would have to ask Bravo why they’re cutting her out of many episodes this season… I’m not the one behind the editing. I’m not the one doing the editing and figuring out the show.”

Host Andy Cohen asked,

“But you’re saying that she’s being phased out?”

Kenya Moore clarified and said,

“Well I said I think she is. That’s not something that I can absolutely say. I mean, if you’re being cut out of episodes, clearly the sign is you’re not as important as you think you are.”

Andy Cohen jumped to NeNe Leakes’s defense and said,

“But I don’t think she’s being cut out of episodes because I think that everything that shot with NeNe is in the show. We’re not cutting anything out… Everything that we shot… There’s nothing that’s been left out.”

NeNe Leakes later explained that she negotiated her appearances like the rest of her cast, but suggested that she was still being treated maliciously. She wrote,

“I HAVE NOT been cut out of any epiosdes! I negotiated my episodes just like everyone else did! I’m getting every dime i asked for! Thank you for asking and clearing that up @andy That means a lot to me”

Interestingly enough, she appeared to allude being phased out of the show on Twitter earlier this year.

Her co-star Kandi Burruss also questioned why NeNe Leakes had fewer appearances this season. 

Kandi Burruss said during her recap of last Sunday (Feb. 9) episode,

“What I will say- and I hate to keep bringing this up – but I have to. Because I know some of you are gonna notice that NeNe was not in another episode…What is going on? Bravo, Truly Original- what is going on?…Why is the OG not on an episode again?…I don’t know. I mean, clearly we don’t know each other’s business when it comes to contracts.”

“I don’t know what she signed for. I don’t know how many episodes she’s supposed to be in. I don’t know how much they payin’ her- I don’t know any of that. So maybe this is something they had already understood going into this season. All I can tell you is we didn’t understand…I don’t know if any of the other girls knew that NeNe wasn’t gon’ be on a lot of episodes this year. Interesting…Well, she’s definitely in next week’s episode.”
