Basketball Stars & Brothers LaMelo, Lonzo & LiAngelo Ball Reportedly Ink Deal w/ Jay-z’s Roc Nation Sports

The Ball brothers, LaMelo, Lonzo, and LiAngelo, are reportedly set to make a huge power move by joining the representation of hip-hop mogul Jay-Z’s Sports Management company, Roc Nation Sports. On Tuesday (April 28th), Jermaine Jackson, LaMelo Ball’s manager announced the news on how the decision with the rap mogul was made. He told ESPN,

“This was a family decision. This is now an extended family. They put together a beautiful game plan with Jay-Z. The basketball game is about to change. They are going to create something totally new.”

He adds there were several agents in line to represent the likes of the trio, however, Jay-z’s influence made an impact,

“We talked to several agents, but the family had good vibes with Roc Nation. I’ve known Jay-Z since I played for the Knicks, but this is what the kids wanted to do. Jay-Z is a master at what he does. He’s global. It’s power beyond power.

He continues,

“This is something that they are building from the ground up together. They are brothers and they love each other and that’s how they roll. It’s all love. They don’t separate from each other.”

Jay-Z and Roc Nation Sports currently represent several talented NBA players including the likes of Kyrie Irving, Andre Ward, Danny Green, and more. To add, the popular agency reps players from the NBA, to MLB, boxing, and even rugby.

Andre Ward signs with Roc Nation

The move to Roc Nation comes at a critical time with the family. As the oldest, Lonzo Ball, who has switch switched representation multiple times will begin negotiating an extension with the New Orleans Pelicans this coming off-season, as LiAngelo Ball has held his own as a member of the G League’s Oklahoma City Blue. The youngest of the brother trio, LaMeloBall is expected to headline as the front-runner for the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NBA draft.

“Right now Melo is focused on the weight room and working on his game training with Lavar. His father is doing a phenomenal job. He already put seven pounds of muscle on him. He’s working out with Lonzo and Gelo trying to get ready for whatever comes next. He’s grown half an inch in the last few months.”

The Ball brothers were represented by Creative Artists Agency before leaving the company last month, according to multiple media reports. The move followed agent Leon Rose’s exit from CAA to become the New York Knicks’ president.
