Chrissy Teigen Returns To Twitter After Brief Hiatus Following Insults About Her Kids, Makes Page Public Again
Update #2 (May 12): That was quick! Chrissy Teigen is back on Twitter and has made her page public again after her brief hiatus. Just days after she announced she was taking a break, following insults about her two children, she made an appearance back on the social media site Monday (May 12). She wrote,
“let’s try again… whoops haven’t tweeted for so long… I have too much to say and no room”

She also responded to an apology from chef Alison Roman, whose remarks about Chrissy Teigen during an interview ultimately led to Chrissy Teigen’s social media breakdown.

She went on to explain why she made her page private, despite having millions of followers.

Original Story: Chrissy Teigen might be one of the most outspoken celebrities on Twitter, but the model and TV personality has now made her account private after controversial comments were reported about her career, success, and her children.

“Nothing Fancy” author and famous chef Alison Roman had quite a bit to say about Chrissy Teigen and her life during an interview with The New Consumer. She said,
“What Chrissy Teigen has done is so crazy to me. She had a successful cookbook. And then it was like: Boom, line at Target. Boom, now she has an Instagram page that has over a million followers where it’s just, like, people running a content farm for her. That horrifies me and it’s not something that I never want to do. I don’t aspire to that.”
She continued,
“But like, who’s laughing now? Because she’s making a ton of f–king money.”
Fans saw a softer side of Chrissy Teigen when she expressed her hurt over the comments.
“It has been crappy to deal with this all day but I couldn’t not say something. I know the actual tears I put into the work I do and it’s really hard to see someone try to completely invalidate it. Someone I really liked.”

She continued,
“There are many days I cry very hard because cravings, the site, is our baby we love to pump content onto, we do this work ourselves, and there is NO monetary gain yet. It is just work work work and reward is you liking it. so to be called [a] sellout…. hooooo it hurts”

She later suggested she was going to unfollow Alison Roman after using her recipes for years.

Alison Roman has since taken to Twitter to apologize.

But ultimately, Chrissy Teigen suggested she was taking a hiatus from Twitter because people referred to her and her husband John Legend’s two kids, Miles, who was conceived via IVF, and Luna as “petri dish babies.”

She wrote,
“I really hate what this drama has caused this week. Calling my kids Petri dish babies or making up flight manifests with my name on them to ‘Epstein island’, to justify someone else’s disdain with me seems gross to me so I’m gonna take a little break. This is what always happens. The first day, a ton of support, then the next, 1 million reasons as to why you deserved this. It never fails.”
