Andre Harrell’s Son Gianni Breaks His Silence On His Passing: I Wish It Didn’t Have To Be This Way

The love and support that the late Andre Harrell has received continues to pour in. As we previously reported, American record executive Andre Harrell recently passed away at the age of 59. Outside of his ex-wife stating that heart problems are the reason behind his death, his family has been pretty quiet about his passing until recently. On Wednesday (May 13th) his son, Gianni Harrell, took to Instagram to express how he has been doing since losing his father. In addition to the heartfelt message the 26-year-old shared serval photos with his dad from over the years:

“Dad, I miss you so much. I love you so much. I wish it didn’t have to be this way, but Destiny has a plan and I know you’ll never be too far away. You’re still my super hero, life coach, personal comedian, twin, yoga partner, wingman, and best friend.”

He also showed love to the late Kim Porter, who passed away in November 2018.

He continued,

“I hope you’re making the most of your time in heaven and please give my love to grandma and [Kim Porter], as I miss them dearly. I hope you’re reconnecting with old friends and making new ones— do not sleep on Bruce Lee! I can already visualize you up there on the dance floor with bad angel mamis. I hope you’re spreading love, giving world class compliments, sharing fantastic outfit advice and terrible memes. I also really hope you saw all the love the world was giving you on your way up. It gives me solace knowing how many lives you touched with your infinite wisdom and smile, boundless energy and immortal taste. Mom and I will miss you tremendously but we are so so proud of you dad. Thank you for showing that it’s all about leaving this earth better than how we find it. You definitely did.”

Gianni Harrell’s public expression of love for the record executive comes just after Andre Harrell’s mentee and friend Diddy took to his own Instagram to share his love and appreciation for all his mentor did for him. Diddy posted a clip from the speech he gave during a Pre-Grammys Gala earlier this year. In the post, he’s accepting an Industry Icon award and is thanking Andre Harrell for taking him under his wing and treating him like a son.
