Rihanna is celebrating 15 years in the music industry, since the release of her debut song and album. “Pon de Replay” made its way to the internet and radio airwaves on May 24, 2005 as the lead single from her debut studio album Music of the Sun, also released in 2005. Fans of the singer started the #15yearsofRihanna hashtag on Sunday (May 24) to honor the milestone.
Rihanna responded to the love with a touching post to her fans, saluting them, God, and Jay Z, for getting her to this place in her career, on her Instagram story,
“#15YearsOfRihanna: Thank you for all of the love on this hashtag today! Man this is tripe. Feels like just yeaterday I was shaking in the hallways of Def Jam waiting to audition for Jay.
Pon de Replay is where it all began….15 years later and I’m here because God led me to you, and you guys heave held me up, supported me tolerated me, loved me, kept it too real with me, and we got always be connected because of that! I love you Navy, and I cherish you. I’m so grateful to gifted you as my fans and family. G4L!”
Rihanna and her team also recently celebrated the 2-year anniversary of her successful Savage X Fenty lingerie line. She posted,
“get into this bra tho…like I’m usually humble but not about lingerie”
