Snoop Dogg: I Was Brainwashed Into Thinking I Couldn’t Vote!
2020 has been a once in a generation year with the COVID-19 pandemic, historically high unemployment rate, and the devastating loss of the legendary Kobe Bryant. To top it off, it is an election year and less than two weeks before elections, America is facing yet another wave of protests due to police brutality. Rapper Snoop Dogg (real name Calvin Broadus) recently discussed the upcoming election with Big Boy on La’s Real 92.3. During their conversation, he’s asked about how he feels about Trump and voting. He shares,
I never voted a day in my life but this year I think I’m gonna get out and vote because I can’t stand to see this punk in office one more year.
The Hip-Hop legend has been vocal throughout the current presidency and holds nothing back when expressing his disdain for President Donald Trump. The 48-year-old reflected on past assumptions regarding his voter status:
For many years they had me brainwashed thinking that you couldn’t vote ‘cause you had a criminal record. I didn’t know that. Yeah, my record’s been expunged.
When asked, if 2020 will be the first year that he will vote, Snoop says:
Definitely ‘cause we got to make a difference I can’t talk about it and not
be about it. I can’t tell you to do it and then don’t go do it. Everybody know I’m a front liner. I ain’t gonna tell you to do something I didn’t do. If I tell you to do something I done it already.
What are your thoughts about Snoop’s decision to vote? Let us know in the comments.
