Idris Elba Is ‘Thankful To Be Alive’ After Testing Positive For COVID-19: I Feel Like I Dodged A Bullet
Actor Idris Elba is counting his blessings. He recently shared that he’s thankful to be alive after he tested positive for coronavirus.
During a recent interview, Idris Elba gave an update on his health following being diagnosed with COVID-19 and shared how thankful he is to be alive.
“I do feel like I dodged a bullet – I’m very thankful to be alive.”
As previously reported, 47-year-old Idris Elba told the world that he was diagnosed with COVID-19 this past March and was quarantined in New Mexico. In the video he uploaded online, he said
“I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic.”
Not too long after Idris Elba shared his positive test results it was revealed that his wife, Sabrina Dhowre, tested positive as well.
While speaking on Instagram live with Oprah, Sabrina Dhowre shared how she found out she had the virus.
“Actually, I found out this morning, Oprah, that I tested positive. I’m not surprised. As soon as I heard that Idris was potentially exposed I was on my way anyway and I wanted to be with him. I think that’s an instinct as a wife you just want to go and take care. We didn’t change the way we interacted.”
“I could have made a decision to put myself in a separate room or maybe stay away. I’m sure people are making those decisions, they’re tough decisions to make. But I made the decision to want to be with him and still touch him.”
