Michelle Williams Reacts To Questions About Not Appearing In Beyonce’s ‘Black Is King’: I’m Minding My Business!

Iconic singer Beyonce dropped her highly anticipated visual album for her 2019 album – “Black Is King” – this past weekend on Disney Plus, which is being met with rave reviews. The film features Beyonce and a crew of actors, singers, and dancers acting out her version of The Lion King in lush luxury fashion and scenery. Beyonce described her intentions for the film on “Good Morning America:”

“My hope for this film is that it shifts the global perception of the word, black…[and] to re-imagine the story of ‘The Lion King.’…’Black Is King’ means black is regal and rich in history, in purpose, and in language.”

One of the fans’ favorite shorts in the film is the music video for the pro-melanin song, “Brown Skin Girl.” Beyonce’s Destiny’s Child group-member, Kelly Rowland, starred in this portion of the film. However, many wondered why DC’s Michelle Williams didn’t participate. She showed her support for Bey and Kelly with an Instagram post. Michelle said:

“When you’re trying to figure out what your favs are from #BlackIsKing! Ehhhhhhh just post ‘em all!!”

Michelle Williams immediately shot down talk hinting that she was left out of “Black Is King.” She responded to a commenter asking where she was:

“I’m in the upper right corner minding my business!”
