D.L. Hughley Accuses Kanye West Of Being Conveniently Mentally ILL, “He’s Exactly Like Donald Trump”
It seems 43-year-old rapper, Kanye West has ignited some feelings in comedian and very vocal radio show host, D.L. Hughley. Amid Kanye West’s presidential election campaign he has been the subject of several Twitter trends, having made, what some believe to be, outrageous statements including that Harriet Tubman “never actually freed the slaves”.
While some social media users blame West’s outbursts on him having “mental health issues,” D.L. Hughley believes that
“there is no doubt that he suffers from some level of mental illness.”
citing that there is
‘a big problem in our community.”
With that said, the comedian also believes that the newly appointed GAP designer is “conveniently mentally ill” but that
“[Mental illness] isn’t why he’s disrespectful to our history”.
He goes on to state,
“He’s not so ill that he can’t [take] $5 million in the PPP payments. So he seems to be conveniently ill when it serves his purposes. And I think he, to me, Kanye West is exactly like Donald Trump. So it would make sense that they’re attracted to one another.”
Hughley has made his distain clear towards Donald Trump in the past. In 2017, DL posted a video alleging that Donald Trump doesn’t care about black people and also stated,
“F*ck you now and f*ck you forever!”
In 2019, Kanye West appeared on “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” with David Letterman, offering an explanation on the mechanisms that his brain goes through with his bipolar disorder, claiming that
“This is like a sprained brain.”
Though DL says he is praying for Kanye West, he admits that his wealth allows him access to the right help.
He said,
“Whatever he’s going through… he could mitigate a great deal of it by accessing the help that is so readily available as many times as people pray for Kanye.”
He concludes,
“So if we, while we’re praying for people that can help their selves, let’s save a little prayer for people that can’t.”
