Kim Kardashian Is Working To Get C-Murder Out Of Jail
Kim Kardashian has announced that she is helping to get C-Murder (real name Corey Miller) out of jail. She shared the news over the weekend on social media.
As previously reported, C-Murder, who is Master P’s brother, is currently serving life in prison, since August 14, 2009 after he says police forced him to lie when he testified, saying that he is responsible for shooting and killing a teenage fan named Steve Thomas, at a nightclub in 2002. C-Murder previously asked a judge to throw out his murder conviction. In a sworn affidavit filed in the 24th Judicial District Court, a witness named Kenneth Jordan says,
“I know that the individual who I saw shoot the gun was not Corey Miller.”
Kim Kardashian has worked in the area of prison reform, advocating for the commutation of the sentence of Chris Young and also of Alice Marie Johnson, a woman who received a life sentence for a first-time drug offense as the leader of a major cocaine ring in Tennessee which was granted by President Donald Trump in June 2018. Along with Van Jones and Jared Kushner, she was instrumental in persuading Trump to support the First Step Act, which enacted major reforms in the US prison system.
Singer Monica, who dated C-Murder years ago, expressed her excitement about Kim Kardashian’s involvement. She wrote on social media:
@cmurder & I are bonded by truth, honesty & Loyalty ! There’s never been a promise broken & I vowed to seek help! After a tearful conversation with @lala she and I spoke to @kimkardashian & I explained why I KNEW Corey was innocent… I shared that There are lots of issues in Corey’s case that speak to his innocence including witnesses recanting their testimony, dna not matching & a 10-2 jury!
Corey deserves to come home to his girls and be the father they need, be the artist & leader he’s always been as well as spread hope to those who have also experienced this..
I’ve locked arms with @kimkardashian, @jessicajackson, @edyhaney and all those who believe in Corey and are ready to fight to #FreeCoreyMiller #FreeCoreyMiller #FreeCoreyMiller
Monica also encouraged social media users to use the #FreeCoreyMiller hashtag.
She also shared a throwback image of them together.
