Chris Brown Celebrates ‘Loyal’ Reaching 1 Billion Views: I Was In Rehab When We Shot This Video, I Was Incarcerated When The Song Was Released

Chris Brown’s “Loyal” video has reached a major milestone six years after its release.

Chris Brown, 31 took to Instagram Tuesday night (Aug. 25) to celebrate the video reaching 1 billion views on YouTube!

He first shared a screenshot from the video, which he directed, and thanked his fanbase for helping him reach the number for the first time in his career.

“TEAM BREEZY!! YALL DID IT!!!!!! THE MOST DEDICATED FAN BASE (FAMILY) THIS IS MY FIRST BILLION VIEWS! (DIRECTED BY BREEZY)…WOW. I LOVE YALL TO DEATH”

He posted a behind-the-scenes clip of the video and explained how it was shot despite him being in rehab at the time.

“When we did this video I was in a (rehab)facility and they only allowed me to leave from 11 to 11 so I could film this. I was then incarcerated when the song released. Loyal became the number 1 song on the charts when i was locked up. My journey has never been a smooth one but the road I travel on has no shortcuts and no do overs..FULL SPEED AHEAD… #LIVELEGENDARY THANK YALL FOR BELIEVING IN ME!!!!!! 1 BILLION VIEWS”

The song also featured Lil Wayne and Tyga. 

In 2014, Chris Brown as arrested for felony assault after allegedly attacking a man outside of the W Hotel after an appearance at a local club. Afterward, he was sentenced to 90 days in rehab for anger management. He was later kicked out of the facility and put in jail before turning things around.
