Diddy Is Opening A Charter School In The Bronx With Remote Learning: We Are Grooming Future Leaders 

For decades, Diddy has continuously made impressive business moves.  Though most people know him as a music mogul turned fashion brand, Diddy (Sean Combs, 50) has diversified his portfolio, adding “educator” to his resume.

The businessman and executive announced that he and educational leader, Dr. Steve Perry will be opening their third school together. Capital Prep Charter School is set to open in the Bronx, following Capital Prep Harlem and Capital Prep Harbor.

The string of boutique college preparatory schools stem the original Capital Preparatory Schools, founded by Dr. Steve Perry in Bridgeport, CT, which according to its mission

“is to provide historically disadvantaged students with the college and career readiness skills needed to become responsible and engaged citizens for social justice.”

In 2018, Diddy took to his Instagram to announce the newest venture in the Bronx.

The opening of Capital Prep Harlem

The newest school will begin its inaugural semester on Sept. 8 with a fully remote schedule.  In a press release Diddy stated,

“My dream has always been to provide children in communities like the Bronx the high quality education they deserve. We’re not just teaching reading, math and coding. We are grooming future leaders that will change their communities and the world.”

Both Diddy and Dr. Perry have intentions on expanding the network of schools in the future.  Perry also released a statement, sharing his excitement.  He stated,

“We couldn’t be more excited to open our next school together in Co-Op city, a community rooted in social justice and diversity.  While opening up remote at first is bittersweet, we have developed a best in class approach to online learning we are excited to implement with our new families. The Capital Prep college prep model is perfectly poised to transition into the digital space and we are excited to deliver a rigorous education to this inaugural class of scholars.”
