Wendy Williams Congratulates Nicki Minaj On Welcoming Newborn Baby, Says Rapper Is Not A Legend
Wendy Williams is known for speaking her mind and not holding back when it comes to celebrity gossip. During Friday’s (Oct.2) episode of The Wendy Williams Show, she congratulated Nicki Minaj on giving birth to her newborn baby while also stating that the rapper is not yet a legend in the music industry. She told viewers,
“Nicki had the baby–yesterday. So congratulations to Nicki. She too is not a ‘legend’. Not the way we think of status. And I feel bad for these girls but you know, Salt–N–Pepa never have to put out music. They paid their dues and they did their thing.”
Wendy Williams also shared similar feelings about rapper Cardi B on Friday’s episode of her talk show.
“Cardi is a legend to some people, but she is not legendary yet. Once you put out more music–and we’re here for it, we’ll wait for you. “
This is not the first time Wendy Williams has been candid about her opinions on Nicki Minaj. Just a few months ago, Wendy Williams spoke out about Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty and made it clear she did not agree with the rapper’s decision to marry him. Wendy had this to say,
“You should’ve never married him. Because now, you’ve ruined everything about what your brand could be…again. You’re never gonna stand a chance when you’re with a man who pulls a knife at rape point… a molester, a registered sex offender… you’re never going to stand a chance with John Q public.”
It was previously reported that Kenneth Petty was convicted of first-degree attempted rape in the mid-90s. He also pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter. He served seven years in prison for that and was freed in 2013.
Nicki Minaj has not yet responded to Wendy Williams comments.
