Atlanta Police Charge Suspect In Fatal Shooting Of Rapper King Von
The Atlanta Police Department have charged Timothy Leeks, 22, with felony murder in the shooting of rapper King Von. As previously reported, Chicago rapper King Von, 26, real name Dayvon Daquan Bennett, died after a shooting at a nightclub in Atlanta early Friday morning (Nov. 6th).
On Saturday (Nov.7), Atlanta police announced that they have arrest warrants for Timothy Leeks for felony murder. He is currently in custody at Grady Hospital where he is recovering from a gunshot wound. A spokesperson for Atlanta police said,
“Mr. Leeks is in police custody at Grady Hospital where he is undergoing treatment for a gunshot wound. The homicide of Bennett is closed with this arrest.”
Police have confirmed that two people were killed while a third victim remains in critical condition.
Reportedly, King Von and a group of men left Opium nightclub and headed to Monaco Hookah Lounge. While there, two men approached the group in the parking lot and the groups started to argue. The argument then escalated into gunfire. During the altercation, there were two off- duty officers who were working security at the hookah lounge as well as one on-duty officer nearby. None of the officers were injured. Reportedly, King Von was fatally shot in the club’s parking lot prior to the officers’ involvement.

According to police, King Von was not found at the scene, but later arrived at a hospital. Police said,
“Additionally, Mr. Bennett was not located at the scene, but arrived at a hospital shortly after the shooting, via private vehicle.”
