Blue Ivy Narrates Audible Version Of Oscar Award Winning “Hair Love”

Not many people are surprised that Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of entertainment giants Beyonce Knowles-Carter and Jay Z,  is out here making another big move.

The 8-year-old has narrated the audible version of Matthew A. Cherry’s Oscar award-winning short film, “Hair Love,” and social media is reacting to the news.

Cherry released the introduction on Twitter with a snippet of the soft and gentle voiceover, promoting the outlets in which the audio can be heard.

The news immediately garnered reactions from fans, citing that Blue Ivy is staying “booked and busy” these days, in addition to reading this book after being the subject of online bullying because of her hair, is a significant win for the young mogul. But, in the words of Beyonce’s “Formation,” “I like my baby hair with baby hair and afros,” and it seems as though Blue Ivy is owning every part of her hair and beauty.

“Hair Love,” an animated short film, won and Academy award in 2019.  The film that started out as a book, follows a man who must do his daughter, Zuri’s hair for the first time.

This doesn’t mark the first of Blue Ivy’s big moves.  Earlier this year the young star nabbed a BET award, NAACP award and Soul Train award for her contributions to her mother’s song, “Brown Skin Girl.”
