In an exclusive interview with theJasmineBRAND.com Real Housewives of Potomac star, Wendy Osefo talks about representation and seeing women who looked like her on television.

“I’m a brown skin girl right? I are up in the era where music videos were big, like music videos were very big.  And I remember always watching BET and stuff like that.  And I was like  ‘Man none of these girls look like me.’  I remember DMX’s video he was talking about ‘There was Keisha, Don, LaShwawn’ all the names he was naming and I was like, ‘Well who looks like Wendy?'”

She then says that things changed after seeing Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore in the music videos.

“And so then I will never forget I saw this beautiful brown skin girl, and I was like ‘Who is that?’  And she always stuck in my head. Fast forward Kenya Moore joined Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

She continued,

“I think that for some people Kenya Moore is associate with Real Housewives of Atlanta but for me, she represented what I felt like I looked like on TV.

Wendy Osefo added that people should respect Kenya Moore’s resume.

“And I have so much love and admiration for her because there wasn’t that representation.  So before the show Kenya Moore was that girl, and to me she is still ‘that girl. Love you Kenya.”

She added:

“Y’all can say ‘Oh are you team Kenya?’ It don’t matter what team you’re on because Kenya Moore been cashing checks.  She’s been that girl so let’s put some respect on her name.”
