Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City Star Mary Cosby Says Black Men Are ‘Not My Taste’, Points Out ‘My Husband Is Lighter’

Mary Cosby of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is never short of a controversial moment. The reality star is now making statements about her type of man.

Earlier in the season, her co-star Jen Shah alleged Mary Cosby said off-camera,

“If I go to a 7-11 and I see Black people, I go to a different 7-11.”

When confronted about the alleged remark during the RHOSLC reunion, Mary Cosby said,

“I said I have a fear when guys are standing out in front of a convenience store…”

Host Andy Cohen asked her if she specifically referred to black men. She responded,

“I’m black. My son is black.”

While her husband, who was previously married to her late grandmother, is also black, she added,

“My taste of black guys, that’s not my taste…”

Andy Cohen asked her if she liked white guys and she confirmed,

“Yes.”

He pointed out that her husband, Robert Cosby, Sr. is black. Mary Cosby replied,

“Well, he’s white…yeah, I mean lighter…He’s black but my preference is lighter guys…”

She clarified,

“I need to improve on the way I convey things … The way I say things can come across offensive. I think all colors of black are beautiful and I’m proud of it and I’m proud of my culture.”
