Kanye West’s Former Bodyguard Is Working On A Tell-All Documentary
Kanye West’s ex-bodyguard is looking to share untold stories of protecting the rapper.
Steve Stanulis told Page Six that an explosive documentary on his experience with Kanye West is in the works and likened it to the “48 Hours” series.
“Two studios approached me. They see this as a ’48 Hours’ for real, or a ‘Lethal Weapon’ for real. It comes from
my mouth, I worked with [West] two separate times.”
He continued,
“Every day was a new adventure. There are a ton of stories I haven’t told.”
He added that other security guards will appear in the project as well, including one who only lasted “five minutes” when working for Kanye West.
He said filming could start as early as April.
While Steve Stanulis said he was one of Kanye’s “favorite guys”, the ugly side of his relationship with the rapper and Kim Kardashian has played out in the public.
Last year, the now exes threatened to sue him for $10 million for allegedly breaching a confidentiality agreement when he spoke on their lives on the Hollywood Raw Podcast.
Steve Stanulis claimed that while employed by Kanye West, he had to abide by the “Good Life” rapper and Kim Kardashian’s “ridiculous rules.” He claimed they would often call the paparazzi on themselves when they left the house. He also said Kanye was “one of my least favorite people to work with over the course of time.”
Stanulis’ publicist denied his client breached an agreement and told TMZ,
“My client went on a podcast to promote his new film, and old stories that were already out there were brought up. For Kanye and Kim’s counsel to send out a threatening letter to bully my client against his rights is unwarranted. My client has already made it clear that he respects Kanye, their time working together. If Kanye and Kim wish to continue this further, that is up to them, but I think their time and money would be better suited helping out with more pressing matters in our society than what happened many years ago.”
After Kanye fired him in 2016, Stanulis said the rapper was the “most self-absorbed person” he had ever worked with. Stanulis said back then:
“I don’t think he ever said two words to me. I would go to a restaurant with him and watch him to make sure nobody was bothering him. Not once was I offered a glass of water or a soda. That was never in his mindset.”
He also said Kanye barely spoke to him and allegedly never thanked him for his services.
