J. Cole Sparks Controversy After Referencing Bill Cosby In Freestyle [WATCH]

It looks like J. Cole chose to get extra spicy while recently showing off his lyrical talents!

J. Cole (real name Jermaine Cole) recently appeared on the L.A. Leakers radio show to promote his upcoming album The Off-Season. While there, he gave fans a freestyle. While many found the general 4-minute freestyle to be noteworthy and entertaining, one line in particular captivated fans’ attentions:

“No Bill Cosby s**t but if n****s is sleeping then f**k ’em.”

Here’s the full verse:

“Ain’t got no time or no patience for lists they be making

Or who they debating is better

Let’s face it, he one of the greatest,

No Bill Cosby s**t but if n****s is sleeping then f**k ’em”

Less than an hour after the freestyle in question dropped, “Bill Cosby” was trending on Twitter. Fans appear to be rather divided over the controversial line, with some thinking J. Cole went too far while others are applauding him. Bill Cosby was accused of drugging and sexually assaulting various women over numerous years, and he is currently serving prison time for aggravated indecent assault.

As we can see, J. Cole‘s double-entendre is being received very differently from fans!

J. Cole‘s upcoming album The Off-Season drops tomorrow (Friday, May 14th).
