Jay-Z Admits To Forgetting Lyrics While Performing Early In His Career
Even Jay-Z slips up every once in a while.
The Grammy-winning rapper appears in the latest installment of LeBron James‘ HBO show The Shop and in the season premiere’s teaser, the Los Angeles Laker’s basketball star asked his guests – Bad Bunny, Nneka Ogwumike, Paul Rivera, and mogul Jay-Z – if they’ve ever been so “zoned out” during a performance that they forgot about the audience. In response, Jay-Z admitted to forgetting his lyrics while performing on stage.
” In the beginning, I used to get on the stage and just forget all my lyrics.”
The whole room exploded into laughter at Jay-Z’s response. For some, it may be hard to fathom the artist, philanthropist, business tycoon, and mogul making ANY mistakes EVER.
Jay-Z has made his fame in music and his fortune through investments and business start-ups. He has invested in everything from clothing to streaming services to alcoholic beverages.
Most recently, his cannabis company Monogram landed a major deal to produce 900,000 pounds of product.
Monogram is owned by The Parent Company (TPCO Holding Corp.)–of which Jay-Z is the Chief Visionary Officer. It recently bought another cannabis company, Mercer Park Brand Acquisition Corp. Additionally, The Parent Company will also join forces with another cannabis company, Glass House Group. This partnership is reportedly worth about $567 million, and it would allow The Parent Company products (e.g. Monogram) to be sold in Glass House dispensaries. Additionally, the merger would allow for a massive amount of cannabis to be produced.
