Boosie: 1 Person Dead After Shooting Goes Down At Video Production, Boosie Unharmed & Suspect Arrested

Boosie‘s recent music video production didn’t go according to plan.

This past Saturday (May 29th), rapper Boosie (real name Torrence Hatch Jr.) was shooting a video down in Huntsville, Alabama. All appeared to be going well until a number of gunshots rang out at around 4:30 p.m., resulting in the death of 20-year old Randall Strong Jr. According to the Huntsville Police Department, somewhere between 50-100 people were fleeing the scene when they arrived. Reportedly, most people present were unwilling to speak to the officers, possibly on account of many possessing guns themselves in the video.

A few hours after the shooting went down, Boosie clarified that he was uninvolved and that he wasn’t targeted in the incident, tweeting:

“AINT NOBODY TRY TO KILL ME N HUNTSVILLE AL YALL MFS BE HAPPY TO SPREAD LIES ON ME #LOL [sic].”

Initially, there were no suspects in the case. However, 22-year-old Christopher Kwan Freeman turned himself in the next morning (Sunday, May 30th) and claimed responsibility for the shooting. He is currently in the Madison County Jail on $75,000 bond.

This incident comes just over six months following the rapper being shot while in Dallas, Texas. As you may recall, an unknown assailant opened fire on Boosie‘s vehicle while he was in Dallas for Mo3‘s funeral, resulting in leg injuries for the “Set It Off” rapper.
