Gizelle Bryant Reveals She & Ex-Husband Jamal Bryant Didn’t Have A Prenup In 2009 Divorce, Fought Over Finances: I Will Never Do That To Myself Again
Gizelle Bryant recently dished on her 2009 divorce from Jamal Bryant–and she’s also advocating for prenups after her experience!
While on her and Robyn Dixon‘s Reasonably Shady podcast, Gizelle Bryant detailed how her divorce from Jamal Bryant played out. This comes shortly after The Real Housewives of Potomac star confirmed their rekindled romance ended.
Regarding their divorce from more than 10 years ago, Gizelle Bryant said:
“I didn’t have a prenup. It was a fight, but like I just said, we didn’t have much, we grew it altogether. It was a fight over money, and I will never, ever do that to myself again.”
After sharing her experiences with a prenup-less divorce, Gizelle advocated for women to consider prenups to protect themselves financially. She stated:
“Ladies, don’t you ever get married–I don’t care if you got $5 and he has $17–don’t you ever get married without a prenup because you do not know where this relationship is going financially and finances are important and you want to protect yourself. If, and when you get a divorce, you want to protect yourself.”
Later in the episode, Gizelle Bryant expressed similar sentiments advocating for protection. She advised married women to:
“Make sure you maintain your strength, your independence, [and] your self-worth.”
