EXCLUSIVE: ‘Married To Medicine’ Star Lisa Nicole Cloud Addresses Her Return, Denies Getting Fired, Reveals She & Her Husband Briefly Separated + Talks Co-Stars: Heavenly Is Always Going To Be Dramatic
Lisa Nicole Cloud of Married to Medicine recently sat down with theJasmineBRAND to clarify a few things surrounding her return to the hit Bravo series!
In an EXCLUSIVE interview with theJasmineBRAND, reality star Lisa Nicole Cloud first addressed her return to the series as a friend of the show. As you may recall, she was a main cast member from seasons 2-4 of the series before parting ways. Now, for the show’s eighth season, she is returning as a recurring guest star.
Regarding her return, Lisa Nicole Cloud stated:
“It’s been a minute [since I was on the show]… I never thought that it was going to go beyond that one day of filming. I was just kind of making a cameo appearance. But then after that it was such a good time, I enjoyed it, [and] I missed the ladies. The producers were like ‘come on, come back. Just come back as a friend at least!’ And so I did.”
Additionally, Lisa Nicole Cloud proceeded to discuss the speculation surrounding her departure from the Bravo series. She clarified that she was not fired from Married to Medicine and stated that she left to focus on her family:
“I was definitely invited back–I had a contract and everything. But my family was my #1 priority, and–as you guys know–when I left that last season, it was really tough on my husband, it was tough on me. It was tough on our marriage. And there were things that were said that were not true that were out… so I just decided ‘I’m just gonna take a break. I need to focus on my family, I need to focus on my other businesses… at that time, I was still trying to have a baby, so it was kind of hard.”
She also added that she and her husband actually separated after her last season on Married to Medicine, and that her break from the show helped them resolve their issues.
Shortly thereafter, Lisa Nicole Cloud dished more on her separation from her husband, Dr. Darren Naugles:
“After we took the time to separate, and figure out what is most important to each of us and go through some counseling, we were able to heal some of the areas that were really struggling in our marriage… We’re still together, our family is still strong, and it is what it is.”
Additionally, the reality star addressed others’ view of her in prior seasons, claiming they mistook her kindness for weakness. As a result, she consciously decided to return to the series with a more confrontational attitude in order to undo the narrative.
Regarding this point, Lisa Nicole Cloud also claimed that there was “unresolved business” between her and Dr. Heavenly as she returned to the series, saying:
“I had not talked to Heavenly since I left the show, so when I came back there was definitely some unresolved business that needed to be addressed… [Earlier in the series], Heavenly and I had started to forge a friendship, and when it went left because of that event that we were putting on together it took me by surprise because there [were] really no issues with the event. But the producers wanted drama, and so that’s what she does–she gives the producers what they want. So she created controversy around the event.”
Lisa Nicole Cloud then segued to her relationship with other Married to Medicine stars, stating:
“Mariah and I have a great relationship, we talk on the phone. We actually have a real relationship outside of television. I have a real relationship now with Toya, I have a good relationship with Simone…I have a working relationship with Quad. We’re not friends, we don’t hang out outside of television… I have a working relationship with Contessa… Jackie’s there–I don’t think that we hang out, but I don’t have anything against Jackie. I think she’s very respectable.”
She also added that Mariah Huq is doing well amid her discrimination lawsuit against Bravo, saying she’s “handling her business.”
At this point, Lisa Nicole Cloud goes back to her relationship with Dr. Heavenly, claiming that the two engage in “light shade” and a “healthy banter” that can sometimes be misconstrued on camera. In one such instance, she mentioned how Dr. Heavenly made fun of Lisa‘s pandemic weight, claiming that the pounds she herself gained weren’t significant. In response, Lisa Nicole Cloud claimed “Well they do show” and proceeded to purchase a scale for them both to use as part of an off-camera agreement. However, this prompted viewers to believe Lisa was fat-shaming Dr. Heavenly, which she denied, telling us:
“The last thing I’m gonna do is fat-shame somebody when everyday I’m working to help people to get to their ideal weights. That’s the last think I’m gonna do! We had agreed to do this to have some funny shade during the episode–but you know Heavenly. She’s always going to make a scene and be dramatic.”
