Michael Costello Reacts To Chrissy Teigen’s Accusations That DMs Between Them Are Fake: This Perpetuates Victim-Blaming & Costs Lives
Update #2 (June 18th – 12:01 pm) Michael Costello has responded to Chrissy Teigen’s rep’s claims that he falsified DMs between them.
His team told Fox News in a statement,
“The fact that Chrissy Teigen’s team is desperately trying to prove the DM’s are fake and attempts to discredit Michael Costello, a victim of trauma and bullying by Chrissy Teigen both online and offline, confirms that she remains the same bully, despite her public apology.”
They continued,
“When a victim feels like their only recourse is to speak up, and the abuser’s first move is to discredit the victim and shame him publicly, this perpetrates victim-blaming and it costs lives.”
They doubled down on Michael Costello’s initial claims and added,
“Seven years ago, when Michael Costello presented Chrissy Teigen with evidence directly that the alleged racist comment she saw was fake, she refused to believe him. Now, her team is quick to discredit Michael’s character in an attempt to salvage her image and partnerships negatively impacted by her decade-long problematic behavior.”
The statement goes on to say,
“Beyond the DM’s and the public comments Chrissy Teigen left on Michael Costello’s Instagram for the world to see, there are emails and documents unreleased to the public which confirms Chrissy Teigen has gone beyond social media to blacklist Michael Costello offline, making him endure over seven years of suffering – mentally and financially. Costello is only one of the many victims who are living with long-lasting, unhealed traumas from Chrissy Teigen’s decade-long bullying behavior.”
It ends with alleging that Chrissy Teigen hasn’t contacted him “or any of her other victims.”
Original Story (June 18th – 9:24 am) The saga between Chrissy Teigen and Michael Costello continues.
A rep for the TV personality and model has accused the designer of making up the DMs that appeared to show Chrissy Teigen bullying him.
Michael Costello shared the messages as he alleged Chrissy Teigen cyberbullied him so badly that he became suicidal.

Now, Chrissy Teigen’s rep is alleging he made up the whole thing as they note inconsistencies in the message.
They told Business Insider that the infamous blue verified checkmark was missing next to Chrissy Teigen’s name on Instagram, suggesting the screenshot was taken in 2014, before Instagram added the feature on the platform. Still, the DMs are blue and purple, a feature that Instagram didn’t roll out until last year.
A video icon is also shown on the DMs, which Instagram didn’t launch until 2018. Finally, the profile photo for Chrissy Teigen dates back to no later than 2016, her rep alleged.
Michael Costello’s accusations came after Chrissy Teigen apologized for past behavior of cyberbullying.

Michael Costello has not publicly responded to allegations he faked the DMs.
