Snoh Aalegra Says ‘I’m 100 Percent Iranian’ As Fans Question Her Race, Adds ‘I Consider Myself Swedish Since That’s Where I Grew Up’
Singer and songwriter Snoh Aalegra is clarifying questions about her race.
She took to Twitter to address remarks about her race as fans debated on social media Sunday night (July 18th).
She started with,
“I’m just seeing the usual bi-weekly debate on twitter about my ethnicity. My heritage and bloodline is not a philosophical topic. I have hard facts for you all.”
She added,
“FOR THE LAST TIME:”
“I am 100% IRANIAN, I am a part of the population from south of Iran where people have darker complexion. I was born and raised in Sweden as a second generation immigrant. I have zero Swedish blood but I do consider myself Swedish since that is the country I grew up in.”

She also shared a throwback photo of her as a child and clarified,
“I am 100% IRANIAN, I am a part of the population from south of Iran where people have darker complexion. I was born and raised in Sweden as a second generation immigrant. I have zero Swedish blood but I do consider myself Swedish since that is the country I grew up in.”

She ended with,
“I love you all, God bless.”

“My dad was dark and had an afro. We also have black people in Iran too… all colours. My mom is light and has green/brown eyes”
