UPDATE: Keyshia Cole’s Mother, Frankie, Tragically Died Of Overdose On Her 61st Birthday [CONDOLENCES]
Update #2: The cause of the tragic passing of Keyshia Cole’s mother has been reported.
According to TMZ, Frankie sadly succumbed to an overdose on her 61st birthday.
Keyshia Cole’s brother Sam told the site that she overdosed at her Oakland home yesterday (July 18th). She allegedly used drugs while celebrating her birthday in an unfortunate relapse incident.
Sam noted that he was trying to help keep Frankie sober and spoke with her daily. He hopes the world will remember her as a woman who loved her children.
Original Story: Sad news this morning (July 19th) as Keyshia Cole’s mother, Frankie, has reportedly passed away.
Her alleged cause of death has not been made public.
Reports spread after Keyshia Cole’s niece Zayya Henderson shared the following post,
“D*** grandma Frankie the call I just got on your birthday . I was just Finna come see you this week I just talked to you happy birthday beautiful and rest in heaven”

Keyshia Cole has not confirmed reports. Her sister Elite Noel made a post on her Instagram stories and confirmed that Frankie tragically passed on her birthday.

While the Love singer was raised by adopted parents, she reunited with her mother in season two of her BET reality show The Way It Is. The series aired from 2006-2008. At the time, Frankie had just been released from jail and struggled with drug addiction.
The two have attempted to rebuild their relationship through their years.
Frankie appeared on Keyshia Cole’s recent reality show My New Life, that also aired on BET in 2019.
