Coco Austin On Why She Still Breastfeeds Her & Ice-T’s 5-Year-Old Daughter: It’s A Big Bonding Moment

Reality star and actress Coco Austin is sticking beside her decision to breastfeed her and Ice-T’s daughter Chanel, 5.

Coco Austin has faced lots of criticism in the past for breastfeeding the child but hasn’t backed down from her stance.

Last year, she defended breastfeeding Chanel, who was four at the time.

Now that Chanel is five, Coco Austin revealed she’s still breastfeeding her daughter with no shame.

She told Us Weekly,

“Chanel still likes my boob. It’s a big bonding moment for a mother and your child.”

She added that  while Chanel will “eat steak and hamburgers,” she also “likes a little snack every now and then.”

She continued,

“Why take that away from her? … If she doesn’t want it, all right, that’s where you stop it. But I’m not just going to say no.”

She also told the publication that the five-year-old still sleeps in the bed with her and her husband.

“We call it the family bed. We have Chanel and all four dogs.”

Coco Austin went on to say that due to their bedroom guests she and the Law & Order: SVU star “can’t be really spontaneous anymore” when it comes to their intimate moments.

She added,

“We used to. We have certain days where we have a free bed for our alone time.”

She continued and said their parenting strategy also includes letting Chanel stay up late sometimes, pointing out that she and Ice-T aren’t “typical parents.”

“We’re more of night entertainment. People have to understand, we have different times. Sometimes, I work until two in the morning. When [Ice-T’s] on tour, he’s doing a show at 12 at night. … So we transfer it a different way. Chanel gets up at 11 in the afternoon.”
