Nick Cannon is setting the record straight on his family dynamics. Entertainer Nick Cannon has been in the news more than usual as people discuss his large family. As previously reported, the 40-year-old actor welcomed his 7th child on June 23, his fourth born in a six-month time span. During an interview with The Breakfast Club Monday (Aug. 9), Nick Cannon addressed the rumors on why he has so many children. He said,
“I’ve learned so much from my children and it’s so amazing and I really just love being around my kids. And just that youthful energy, it feels like you get to relive every time. And I think because I’ve been through so much in my life, you know, physically, mentally, and spiritually, the best place that I find is the time that I spend with my kids.”
Nick Cannon also discussed how he feels about his children coming from 4 different women.
“That’s a eurocentric concept when you think about this idea that you’re supposed to have just one person for the rest of your life. When really that’s just a classified property when you think about it.”
He continued,
“Just the idea that a man should have one woman – we shouldn’t have anything. I have no ownership over this person. Like, If we really talking about how we co-exist and how we populate. It’s about what exchange can we create together.”
He added,
“Those women and all women are the ones that open themselves up to say ‘I would like to allow this man in my world and I will birth this child.’ So it ain’t my decision. I’m following suit.”
