Talib Kweli Accuses Estranged Wife Of Lying About Their Date Of Separation Amid Divorce, Alleges She Wants To Get More Money In The Settlement

Talib Kweli is facing some issues amid his pending divorce from DJ Eque!

Earlier today (Monday, August 9th), TMZ reported that Talib Kweli and DJ Eque (real name Cynthia Greene) are having some disagreements about the specifics of their split. According to the outlet, the former couple is at odds over when they actually separated. While Talib Kweli (real name Talib Kweli Greene) claims they parted ways back on Oct. 20th, 2015, DJ Eque alleges they didn’t separate until July 10th of last year.

Allegedly, Talib Kweli believes that DJ Eque is trying to make it look as though the former couple was together longer than they actually were so she can get more money and property in the divorce settlement. The pair got married back in May 2009, and DJ Eque filed for divorce this past February.

To support his case, Talib Kweli claims he and DJ Eque had not lived together since 2015, and they allegedly didn’t have sex, go on dates, or even talk to each other since then. He claims this suggests their relationship was over, but DJ Eque is challenging his claims.

Talib Kweli also acknowledges he allowed DJ Eque to stay at one of his L.A. homes following their separation. He also allegedly financially supported her during this time. Additionally, he says he ultimately let her keep the $30,000 profit after he sold the property.

Despite the disagreements, Talib Kweli has agreed to pay DJ Eque $2,000 in monthly spousal support, according to reports. However, he wants the date of separation settled before the divorce proceedings continue. They are due back in court in November.
