Jay-Z Is A Potential New Owner For The Denver Broncos, Jeff Bezos Also Considered A Likely Suitor
Could Jay-Z be the next owner of the Denver Broncos?
Back in 2019, Pat Bowlen–who owned the Denver Broncos since purchasing the NFL team in 1984–suddenly passed away. Since then, the team has been owned by members of Pat Bowlen‘s family. However, the current 2021-2022 NFL season is expected to be the family’s last season owning the Denver Broncos. While this is unconfirmed, alleged disagreements within the family–and the team having an estimated purchase price of $4 billion–led to the reported speculation.
According to recent reports, Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) is one person who’s interested in purchasing the team. While the rapper-turned-entrepreneur–who is officially hip-hop’s first billionaire–would need partners for the project, he has been named as a potential new suitor.

On top of Jay-Z, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos–the richest man in the world–is also someone who’s reportedly interested in purchasing the Denver Broncos. Jeff Bezos has shown interest in NFL team ownership before, as he was reportedly in discussions for a 40% stake in the Washington Football Team.
While Jay-Z and Jeff Bezos have been cited as potential new owners, there is reportedly no shortage of people interested in acquiring the Broncos. According to sports attorney Richard Roth, NFL ownership is “definitely a status symbol” for billionaires. Resultingly, Jay-Z and Jeff Bezos are just two of many people interested in owning the Broncos.
