Caitlyn Jenner seems to agree with Dave Chappelle amid his latest Netflix controversy. As previously reported, On Oct. 5 Netflix released Dave Chappelle’s newest special, The Closer, to its streaming platform. Following the release of the stand-up special, Dave Chappelle, 48, received backlash from a few LGBTQ+ organizations and community members for some of the jokes and commentary he featured in the special. On Oct. 20, after Netflix refused to pull the special, roughly 1,000 Netflix trans employees and their allies held a walkout in protest over Netflix’s decision.

Caitlyn Jenner, 71, who is a former Olympian and trans woman, recently came forward in support of Dave Chappelle. She tweeted a video where the famed comedian is speaking on the backlash he’s currently dealing with. Caitlyn Jenner captioned the post,
“Dave Chappelle is 100% right. This isn’t about the LGBTQ movement. It’s about woke cancel culture run amok, trying to silence free speech. We must never yield or bow to those who wish to stop us from speaking our minds.”

In the video the former KUWTK star shared, Dave Chappelle says,
“This was in the press, that I was invited to speak to the trans employees at Netflix and I refused. That is not true. If they had invited me, I would have accepted. Although, I am confused about what we are speaking about. I said what I said and boy, I heard what you said.”
He adds,
“I want everyone in the audience to know that even though the media frames it that it’s me versus that community, that’s not what it is. Do not blame the LGBTQ community for any of this sh*t. It has nothing to do with them. It’s about corporate interest and what I can say and what I cannot say.”
Dave Chappelle is 100% right. This isn’t about the LGBTQ movement. It’s about woke cancel culture run amok, trying to silence free speech.
