Drake Advocates For The WNBA To Bring A Team To Toronto
It looks like Drake wants to expand his reach in professional basketball.
As an ambassador for the Toronto Raptors, it’s obvious that Drake has a love for basketball. So much so, the Canadian-born rapper publicly requested the WNBA to expand to his hometown.

On Wednesday (11/3), the Certified Lover Boy took to his Instagram writing,
“@WNBA I need a Toronto team.”

According to reports, the WNBA is looking to expand to other cities including Houston, Charolette, and Toronto. Currently, the league is made up of 12 teams, all based in the United States.
In addition to working with the NBA, Drake recently expanded his brand and acquired a minority stake in Dave’s Hot Chicken, which launched in 2017. Although the ‘Degrassi‘ star will own less than 50 percent of the company, he stands as the biggest investor alongside others like actor Samuel L. Jackson.

On his partnership, Drake said,
“I tried the food and it was amazing. After meeting the founders and hearing their story, I jumped at the opportunity to invest.”

Just like the WNBA, Dave’s is looking to expand. Dave’s Hot Chicken has 22 locations in California and is reportedly planning to open up Chicago and Houston.
