Jada Pinkett Smith Praises Daughter Willow Smith For Setting Healthy Boundaries In Their Relationship
Over the past few years, Jada Pinkett Smith has shown more of her vulnerable side as she tackles serious and insightful topics on her Facebook Watch series Red Table Talk. In the latest episode of the web series, Jada Pinkett Smith, 50, praises her daughter, Willow Smith, 21, for setting healthy boundaries in their relationship. While chatting with her mother, Adrienne Banfield Norris, 68, actress Lauren London, 36, and therapist/author Nedra Glover Tawwab, about the importance of boundaries, Jada Pinkett Smith says,
“You’re saying that what we should do is we should really be able to listen to what people feel. I gotta stop trying to fix every d*** thing. That’s not my job either.”
She continues and shares how good her daughter, Willow Smith, is at standing firm on the boundaries she has set.
“I gotta give Willow props because she’ll call me, disrupted, and be like, ‘I don’t need you to fix anything mom, I just want you to listen.'”

She adds,
“I go, ‘Fantastic, I got you.’ Because she knows I’m going to go straight to, ‘Well we can do this and that.’ ‘Nope just listen to me mommy, I just need you to listen.'”
The latest episode of Red Table Talk premiered today (Nov. 3rd) at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET on Facebook Watch.
As previously reported, Jada Pinkett Smith found herself trending after last week’s episode of Red Table Talk.
While talking with her mother and actress Gwyneth Paltrow, 49, Jada shared aspects about her sex life with husband Will Smith, 53, and said,
“It’s hard! The thing Will and I talk about a lot is the journey. We started in this at a very young age, 22 years old…I think you expect your partner to know [what you need], especially when it comes to sex. It’s like, ‘Well if you love me, you should know. If you love me, you should read my mind.’ That’s a huge pitfall.”

She added,
“Tell me what you need, tell me what you want, and on top of it, I know that I have to be accountable to do the same. I really try [to do that]. It’s uncomfortable, but it’s deeply healthy. I think, around sex, because it’s something that we don’t talk about a lot and there’s so much fantasy around it.”
Following the episode’s release, Jada took to her Twitter to clarify her remarks. She wrote,
“Only because I got time today. Stop making up headlines. Watch the @RedTableTalk for I did with @GwynethPaltrowfor yourselves. Will and I have NEVER had an issue in the bedroom. Thank you”
