Adele Opens Up About Being In A Secret Relationship A Year After Divorce: I Associate Him With The Breakdown Of My Marriage

Adele has been slowly revealing some of her experiences with her divorce from Simon Konecki. On Instagram Live in October, she told fans that her highly anticipated album, 30, will be based on her split.

As previously reported, she explained that she was embarrassed about getting a divorce so quickly. She said,

“I take marriage very seriously… and it seems like I don’t now. Almost like I disrespected it by getting married and then divorced so quickly. I’m embarrassed because it was so quick.”

Now she’s revealing that a year after the divorce, she was in a relationship. The Easy On Me singer said,

“It wasn’t right, leaving a marriage and then dating a year after. Even if you feel ready, it’s a gaping, open wound whether you leave or you’re left.”

She went on to say,

“I was unable to pretend that I wasn’t in my own storm… I couldn’t give myself properly. I couldn’t be consistent, and neither could he. I associate him with the breakdown of my marriage. So therefore, he is part of the storm.”

The 33-year-old explained that she was thankful she was honest with herself about that secret relationship and ended it. She added,

“And I was just, you know, really honest with him about it, thank God. Otherwise I could’ve found myself in a situation being in a relationship I didn’t want to be in after coming out of one.”

Now Adele is in a new relationship with LeBron James’ agent, Rich Paul. The pair sparked dating rumors over the summer when they were seen at the NBA finals game in Phoenix.

Since then sources have said,

“Adele is very much in love with Rich and their relationship has become more serious in the last few months. They have both met each other’s kids, but have been keeping it low-key around them. They both stay at each other’s places in L.A., and are pretty much inseparable.”
