Young Dolph – Memphis Comedian Killed Days After Making Controversial Jokes Online About Rapper’s Untimely Death
There appears to be speculation that the streets of Memphis are in a retaliation phase following the murder of city native Young Dolph.
According to reports, Memphis-based comedian Derrion ‘DMuney’ Childs was fatally shot in Memphis just days after sharing a few questionable remarks about Young Dolph’s tragic death online. Reports claim that after news broke about Young Dolph’s passing, the 21-year-old comedian shared via his Facebook page a now-deleted controversial post that said,
“MANEEEEE THEM FOLKS JUST KILLED YOUNG DOLPH I LOVE MEMPHIS CUH WE SO GANGSTA [laughing emojis] [face palm emojis] [fire emojis]”
In a separate post, he added,
“MANE CUHH IF YEEN FROM MEMPHIS OR IF YEEN THE POLICE JUST QUIT TRYNA SOLVE YOUNG DOLPH MURDER. THESE FOLKS DONE CAME & LOCKED MY GMA UP.”
According to reports, DMuney’s murder took place last Tuesday (Nov. 23) around 10 p.m. at a Valero gas station. However, it wasn’t until Friday (Nov. 26) that the Memphis Police Department confirmed in a tweet that DMuney was one of the 3 victims shot at. The other 2 victims included a woman who suffered non-critical injuries and a man who reportedly wasn’t harmed in the shooting.
Following the incident, DMuney was rushed to the hospital but he didn’t survive. Police shared that the assailants fled the scene in 2 separate vehicles, a dark-colored Infiniti SUV and a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee. Investigators have not confirmed if the comedian’s FB posts were related to his murder, but it is highly speculated that they are.
According to DMuney’s sister, Shameccia Mason, his jokes were taken out of context. In a recent interview with a local station, she shared,
“He was like I’m not joking about Dolph’s death. He said ‘I’m just saying that Memphis is basically the next Chicago because anybody can get killed in Memphis.’ He was like, ‘it’s crazy how Young Dolph actually went to a cookie place in his own neighborhood and got killed in his own neighborhood.’ He was like that’s what he meant. He wasn’t making a joke about death.”
Since his passing, DMuney’s comment section on his Instagram page has been flooded with dolphin emojis.
As previously reported, rapper Young Dolph was unfortunately murdered in his hometown of Memphis Tennessee on Nov. 17th.
