Bill Cosby–Prosecutors Petition For U.S. Supreme Court To Reinstate Comedian’s Thrown-out Conviction
Could Bill Cosby soon find himself back in prison?
As you may recall, Bill Cosby was imprisoned back in 2018 after being convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman. While he was sentenced to 3-10 years behind bars, Bill Cosby‘s conviction was ultimately overturned after courts discovered that former Montgomery County DA Bruce Castor had promised the comedian immunity.

While the technicality may have earned Cosby his freedom, Philadelphia-area prosecutors are looking to have his conviction restored! According to recent reports, the new Montgomery County DA–Kevin Steele–is petitioning for the U.S. Supreme Court to reinstate Bill Cosby‘s sexual assault conviction. He also slammed the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s decision to overturn it in the first place, stating:
“This decision as it stands will have far-reaching negative consequences beyond Montgomery County and Pennsylvania. The U.S. Supreme Court can right what we believe is a grievous wrong.”
In response, Bill Cosby‘s spokesman, Andrew Wyatt, remarked:
“This is a pathetic last-ditch effort that will not prevail. The Montgomery’s County’s DA’s fixation with Mr. Cosby is troubling to say the least.”
One of the jurors who found Cosby guilty also commented on the matter, saying she was glad to see the situation being reviewed:
“I firmly believe that what we decided was correct, or else I wouldn’t have made that decision… with the group. Having it overturned because of something that was outside of the facts of what we were given is disappointing.”
