Sherri Shepherd Reveals She & Common Almost Dated: “There Was A Moment When I thought I was Going To Get With Common”

It looks like Sherri Shepherd is letting us in on a little secret! During Wednesday’s (12/15) episode of The Wendy Williams Show, guest host Sherry Shephered spilled some alleged tea on a possible romance between she and Common. During the ‘Hot Topics’ segment, Sherri discussed the recent breakup between Common and comedian, Tiffany Haddish. She first discussed his dating history and lists the many A-list celebrity woman he’s been linked to including, Serena Williams, Angela Rye, Taraji P. Henson and Eryka Badu.

Sherri then drops a bomb and reveals that she and Common allegedly almost dated. She said,

“There was a moment when I thought I was going to get with Common. I met Common years ago at Steve Harvey’s gala in New York City. He introduced himself to me and stood by my table all night….We had great conversation. He gave me his phone number and we texted back and forth afterwards.”

Sherri goes on to say even Common’s mother was fond of her,

“When I met his mother she even said, ‘I was her almost favorite daughter in law.'”

She later jokes about her appendix being taken out recently, and how it now has her being very candid.

“Ya’ll they done took out my appendix, now I’m telling all my business.”

As previously reported, Sherri Shepherd underwent emergency surgery last weekend due to appendicitis, causing her to miss Monday’s (12/13) taping of The Wendy Williams Show.

Shepherd’s publicist released a statement confirming the comedian underwent ’emergency surgery’ and that ‘the procedure was successful’.

“Due to appendicitis, Sherri Shepherd underwent an emergency surgery yesterday. The procedure was successful, and Ms. Shepherd is doing fine and resting. She is absolutely devastated that she will not be able to guest host The Wendy Williams Show today, but she is following doctors’ orders and expected to make a full recovery. Thank you all for understanding and respecting her privacy.”
